Learn to sew: 6 week course (evenings)
This 6 week course on Thursday evenings is suitable for complete beginners who would like to try their hand at dressmaking. The course will guide you through threading and using a sewing machine to complete a simple project before moving on to a garment of your choice from the Tilly and the Buttons pattern range.
sewing machines and equipment are provided, as well as a pattern. You will need to provide your own fabric and supplies indicated on the pattern. Further advice will be given in the first class.

Quilted Advent Calendar
Make your own heirloom advent calendar in this one day class. Tracy will show you how to construct, quilt and bind your calendar which you will make from a panel. You will need to bring an advent panel, wadding, backing fabric, thread and fabric for binding. All available to buy in the shop.
The Sew Over It Ultimate Pencil Skirt class
Make yourself a fabulous pencil skirt in a day with your tutor Amanda. You will learn a range of dressmaking techniques including sewing darts, attaching a waistband facing and inserting an invisible zip. The pattern, tuition and use of equipment are all included in the class. You will need to bring fabric, thread and a 30cm concealed zip. Please note that the pattern is sized for UK 8-20 and if you are significantly outside of this size range, this class may not be suitable for you.
Make a jersey top or dress: Coco by Tilly and the Buttons
Make a fabulous Coco top or dress by Tilly and the Buttons. Suitable for beginner or intermediate sewists, you will learn tips and techniques for sewing with knit fabrics in this one day class. Pattern, equipment, tuition and refreshments included. You will need to bring fabric (ideally pre washed), thread and a small amount or ribbon, stay tape or clear elastic. please note that this pattern is for UK sizes 6-20. If you are outside this range please contact us prior to booking.
Patchwork and quilting: hand piecing
In this class you will learn a range of hand-piecing techniques including, using templates, making your own template and English paper piecing. In addition to learning the techniques, there will be the opportunity to create your own handmade pin cushion. You can bring your own selection of fabric scraps (cotton is ideal). All equipment is provided.
