Beginners Patchwork and Quilting - 4 Week Course
Learn patchwork and quilting techniques, including cutting, piecing, quilt as you go and binding, and create a selection of quilted projects over the 4 week course, under the expert guidance of tutor Tracy.4 week course over 4 consecutive Thursdays You can use our sewing machines or bring your own if you prefer. Refreshments included! you will not need to bring anything for the first class, and advice will be given on what to bring for subsequent classes.
Sew your own jeans or trousers
Make your own jeans or trousers with Sophie in this 2 day class. The class will cover some of the trickier aspects of trouser making, like fly fastenings and fitting and is ideal for intermediate or advanced dressmakers. You will need to bring a pattern, fabric ( ideally pre-washed) and notions as indicated on your pattern. 2 days: 25th and 26th of January
Make a jersey top or dress: Coco by Tilly and the Buttons
Make a fabulous Coco top or dress by Tilly and the Buttons. Suitable for beginner or intermediate sewists, you will learn tips and techniques for sewing with knit fabrics in this one day class. Pattern, equipment, tuition and refreshments included. You will need to bring fabric (ideally pre washed), thread and a small amount of ribbon, stay tape or clear elastic. please note that this pattern is for UK sizes 6-20. If you are outside this range please contact us prior to booking.
Know Your Overlocker
Make the most of your overlocker with this one day class. You will learn how to correctly thread your machine, 3 and 4 thread overlocking, rolled hems, tension adjustment and more in this one day class. please bring your overlocker, together with any feet and accessories and 4 different coloured threads.

If you've never used a sewing machine, or you just want to feel more confident this class is for you. bring your own machine or use one of ours!

Patchwork and quilting: the next step (4 week course)
If you've completed one of our beginner's classes or are confident with the basics of patchwork and quilting, this is a great opportunity to progress your skills. You will be discovering a range of blocks, as well as quilting and finishing options. You can also bring your current project along for help and advice on getting it finished. 4 week course. Dates 5th, 12th, 26th March and 2nd April. Please note that there will be no class on the 19th of March. Tutor: Tracy
Sew a Skye Wrap
The Skye Wrap from Cool Crafting is super popular and versatile, and a perfect first project for beginner sewists. Suitable for all sizes and sewing abilities including complete beginners. One day class includes tuition, pattern instructions, equipment and refreshments. Materials required: 70cm wool or similar outer fabric (150cm wide) 70cm lining fabric, eg cotton lawn (140cm wide) 3 or 4 large buttons (these are available to buy on the day from the tutor if you wish) thread All supplies are available to buy in the shop.

Sewing children's clothes: A super-simple skirt
Learn to sew a simple, elasticated waist skirt for a child - no pattern required! This class is ideal if you've never sewn before. You'll need to bring at least half a metre of cotton fabric, matching thread and elastic. If you're unsure, just come into the shop and we can help! You'll also need the height and waist measurements of the child you're sewing for.
Learn to Sew: A lined tote bag
An easy project for beginners. You will need about half a metre of fabric (cotton canvas is ideal) and half a metre of lining.
Start your Quilt
If you've always wanted to make a quilt but don't know where to start then this is the class for you. Tracy will guide you through essential techniques and fabric choices as well as giving you simple design ideas to get you started. you will need to bring fabric and thread.
Learn to Crochet
Suitable for complete beginners, this short introductory class will get you started with the basics of crochet. youll need to bring some light coloured double knit yarn and a size 4 crochet hook. Available to buy in the shop.
Make a quilted advent calendar
Make a beautiful quilted advent calendar with Tracy in this popular one day class which is suitable for all abilities. You'll be using an advent panel to create a calendar that will be treasured for years to come. All materials are included, including your choice of panel, wadding and backing fabric.
