Beginners Patchwork and Quilting - 4 Week Course
Learn patchwork and quilting techniques, including cutting, piecing, quilt as you go and binding, and create a selection of quilted projects over the 4 week course, under the expert guidance of tutor Tracy.4 consecutive weeks 9.30-13.30 You can use our sewing machines or bring your own if you prefer. Join Tracy to make a lovely zipped cosmetic pouch in this one day class which is a perfect introduction to patchwork and quilting. Tuition, equipment and refreshments are included. You will need to bring a zip, a small amount of wadding and some fabric scraps or a few fat quarters.
Know Your Sewing Machine
If you've never used a sewing machine, or you just want to feel more confident this class is for you. bring your own machine or use one of ours!

Make a beautiful silver pendant from a button of your choice. class includes tuition, all materials and equipment to make one necklace.
Tilly and the Buttons Cleo Dungaree dress class
Learn to sew the super popular Cleo from Tilly and the buttons. A simple pattern, ideal for beginners with a relaxed style that doesn't need tricky fitting adjustments. Your tutor Amanda will give you plenty of support and guidance, as well as sharing all her tips and tricks for successful sewing! The pattern, use of equipment and tuition are included. You will need to bring fabric and notions as indicated on the pattern. Please note that this pattern is sized for UK 6-20 and if you are significantly outside of this range, this class may not be suitable.
A quilted drawstring bag
Enjoy a day of patchwork and quilting and create a beautiful and practical drawstring bag. This class is suitable for anyone who can use a sewing machine, but no quilting experience is necessary. Tuition, equipment and refreshments are provided. You will need to bring your own materials including fabric and a small amount of wadding.
Make a lampshade in the fabric of your choice. No sewing required! You will need about ½ a metre of medium weight fabric - cotton or a cotton/linen blend are ideal, which you can bring with you or buy in the shop. All other materials are provided.
Learn to sew: taster session
Have a go at sewing in this afternoon session for complete beginners. You will learn to thread a sewing machine, and practice sewing before completing your own mini-make!
Learn to Crochet
Get started with crochet and learn to make a granny square! Yarn is provided - you will just need to bring a crochet hook, size 3.5 or 4 (available to purchase in the shop).
Know Your Overlocker
Make the most of your overlocker with this one day class. You will learn how to correctly thread your machine, 3 and 4 thread overlocking, rolled hems, tension adjustment and more in this one day class. please bring your overlocker, together with any feet and accessories and 4 different coloured threads.
Learn to sew: 4 week course (evenings)
A four week evening course for anyone who wants to sew but doesn't know where to start! No prior knowledge is required as we will be starting from the very beginning. You'll get to grips with threading and using a sewing machine before tackling a variety of simple projects.
Made to Measure: A Shift dress
Make a shift dress that fits you perfectly! In this class you will learn how to create a paper pattern from your own body measurements, before making a toile in calico, and then adjusting as required to achieve the right fit. 2 day class 9th & 10th of March All materials are included.
Make a dress: Sew Over It shift dress
Make the Ultimate Shift dress from Sew Over It in this one day class. Suitable for sewists who have completed one or two projects and want to develop their skills, this class will guide you through the steps to make your own dress. The class includes tuition, use of sewing machines and equipment, Sew Over It pattern and refreshments. You will need to bring fabric, ideally pre washed, thread and any other requirements indicated on the pattern.
Create your own fantastic cushions in this class which is suitable for beginners.We'll start with an envelope or wrapped cushion cover before learning to insert a zip, use piping and make Oxford style covers. You will need to bring approximately 1m of fabric and matching thread.
Sew your own jeans or trousers
Make your own jeans or trousers with Sophie in this 2 day class. The class will cover some of the trickier aspects of trouser making, like fly fastenings and fitting and is ideal for intermediate or advanced dressmakers. You will need to bring a pattern, fabric ( ideally pre-washed) and notions as indicated on your pattern. 2 days: 27th and 28th of April
