Beginners Patchwork and Quilting - 4 Week Course
Learn patchwork and quilting techniques, including cutting, piecing, quilt as you go and binding, and create a selection of quilted projects over the 4 week course, under the expert guidance of tutor Tracy.4 week course over 4 consecutive Thursdays You can use our sewing machines or bring your own if you prefer. Refreshments included! you will not need to bring anything for the first class, and advice will be given on what to bring for subsequent classes.

Patchwork and quilting: the next step (4 week course)
If you've completed one of our beginner's classes or are confident with the basics of patchwork and quilting, this is a great opportunity to progress your skills. You will be discovering a range of blocks, as well as quilting and finishing options. You can also bring your current project along for help and advice on getting it finished. 4 week course. Make a dungaree dress: Cleo by Tilly and the Buttons
Learn to sew the super popular Cleo from Tilly and the buttons. A simple pattern, ideal for beginners with a relaxed style that doesn't need tricky fitting adjustments. Your tutor Amanda will give you plenty of support and guidance, as well as sharing all her tips and tricks for successful sewing! The pattern, use of equipment and tuition are included. You will need to bring fabric and notions as indicated on the pattern. Please note that this pattern is sized for UK 6-20 and if you are significantly outside of this range, this class may not be suitable.
Make a cushion
A super-easy project for beginners.
All equipment, tuition and refreshments are provided.
You will need to bring about half a metre of fabric. Quilting cotton or cotton canvas is ideal (available to buy in the shop).
Make a drum lampshade
Make a lampshade in the fabric of your choice. No sewing required! You will need about ½ a metre of medium weight fabric - cotton or a cotton/linen blend are ideal, which you can bring with you or buy in the shop. All other materials are provided.
Learn to Sew: 6 week course
A six week course aimed at complete beginners. Each week we will tackle a different project, building your skills and developing your confidence with sewing. All materials are included for the first class, and you will be given advice about what you will need for subsequent classes. 6 consecutive Wednesdays.
Learn to Sew: A lined tote bag
An easy project for beginners. You will need about half a metre of fabric (cotton canvas is ideal) and half a metre of lining.
Know Your Sewing Machine
If you've never used a sewing machine, or you just want to feel more confident this class is for you. bring your own machine or use one of ours!
Know Your Overlocker
Make the most of your overlocker with this one day class. You will learn how to correctly thread your machine, 3 and 4 thread overlocking, rolled hems, tension adjustment and more in this one day class. please bring your overlocker, together with any feet and accessories and 4 different coloured threads.
Introduction to tailoring: Make a jacket
If you've made a few simple garments and want to move your skills to the next level, then this class is for you! Choose from the Coco jacket from Sew Over It or the Nina Lee Richmond Blazer. The Coco is a classic fitted, lined jacket which is a perfect first tailoring project and the Richmond is a classically styled blazer with a longline silhouette. The pattern, tuition, equipment and refreshments are all included. You will need to bring 1.4-2.6m of medium to heavyweight fabric, thread, lining fabric and lightweight interfacing. This is a two day class, 10-4 on Saturday and 12-4 on Sunday. please note that the pattern is sized for UK sizes 8-20. If you are outside of this size range please ask for further information before booking.

If you've always wanted to make a quilt but don't know where to start then this is the class for you. Tracy will guide you through essential techniques and fabric choices as well as giving you simple design ideas to get you started. you will need to bring fabric and thread.
Learn to Crochet
Suitable for complete beginners, this short introductory class will get you started with the basics of crochet. youll need to bring some light coloured double knit yarn and a size 4 crochet hook. Available to buy in the shop.
Learn to Knit
A class for complete beginners! You will learn to cast on, knit, purl, cast off and understand basic pattern instructions. you will need to bring a ball of double knit (dk) yarn and knitting needles (size 4).

Don't be afraid of your coverstitch machine! Bring it along and learn to use it confidently for that professional look to your handmade garments!
Make a quilted advent calendar
Make a beautiful quilted advent calendar with Tracy in this popular one day class which is suitable for all abilities. You'll be using an advent panel to create a calendar that will be treasured for years to come. All materials are included, including your choice of panel, wadding and backing fabric.
